Design
Using the very latest in computer aided design and a highly skilled workforce we offer the advantages of data transmission, modelling, digitised information and reverse engineering.
We boast a highly experienced team of CAD design engineers that work very closely with our clients project managers to ensure complete success.
We offer a bespoke manufacturing service that is second to none. Our CAD designers take your plans and transform them into working models using the latest computerised design and manufacturing techniques.
Quality is the overriding factor in everything we do, our customers depend on our quality and our commitment to them is shown through our current accreditations.
Our customers are also offered Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Mouldflow imagery to ensure unnecessarily costly and time consuming alterations are not required at a later date.
CNC Machining:
Our Milling section is operated from a direct network link from our designers to our shop floor computers where the highly skilled machine operators create their own machining programme.
The CNC milling machines operate at extremely high speed and our highly experienced and efficient operators use the latest software and controls to ensure a premium finish to all machined parts.
Accuracy and fast turnaround to exacting tolerances are a trademark of Petford Group and of course fit to our customer’s budget. We heavily invest in our own machine tools to maintain our position as one of the top leading tool making companies. Our largest machine, gives unlimited weight
Sparking:
Our bench section is supported by extremely skilled Toolmakers who work from our Dudley site, or at your specific request, can work within your premises. This unique integration between both companies allows us to ensure the very best service with minimal downtime and costs.
Spark erosion capacity ranges from 1m to 2.5m tanks. Our spark erosion machines use the latest pulsing technology to ensure fast and efficient form erosion.
CAD/CAM programmes can be downloaded to facilitate any profile on any of our CNC lathes.
Finishing:
When our moulds leave the milling section and have their guidance fitted, our bench hands have the facility of a bedding out press to achieve accurate shut outs and shear edges.
Once bedded out, tools are transferred to the bench where they are finally polished and fitted with the ejection. Assembly of hot runners and hydraulic air cylinders comes as the last task prior to product testing if requested from our customer or direct delivery.
